THE TEXTURE EDIT
want to emulate this Seasons frenzied obsession with textures ….. It’s all about shopping for separates as the Doc says ‘ one item at a time’ so when shopping for your textures keep a careful eye on the colour ‘ allow for one loud or dominant colour ‘ then one to two complimentary colours to share centre stage so to ‘speak’ with your main colour. Today’s look was edgy with rock chick appeal…..
today I chose Oxblood or Burgandy some might say to be the central or Loudest colour of my outfit and went with a faux fur open front coat. Absolutely love this piece a great investment buy from Bella Sola Boutique in NewCastle West. It’s one of those perfect pieces you have been waiting for to create that to really create that edgy look for this this season. Ticking all of the boxes for texture lovers; furry, loud and a colour with rock star appeal. Similar alternatives available at
More of a cropped version but the rich shade of Burgandy is gorgeous,
or a gillet version available at
or quite the edgy version with contrast stripe at the hem

Skirt I opted for was a pleather mini version from Warehouse, one of my favourite pieces from this Autum Winter. It is a high waisted mini skirt with a dropped waist line which kicks out into a full flare. Pleather of course is just just incredibly wearable this time of year not to mention two upsides here (siding with pleather on this post 😉 machine washable fantastic when your always working with or near makeup and two,,,, lighter and easy to pack when travelling;) WIN WIN , just need to avoid buying so much of it …..

I spotted a similar version at Asos as the version I got from Beatrice is sold out http://www.beatriceb.it

This is hata is from http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=F21&Category=Acc_Hat&ProductID=2000214036&VariantID= with the POM POM version one of the most iconic looks for hat wearers this Winter. Similar versions from Penneys in 4 lush shades last time I checked, Burgandy, black, grey and mustard. So you could swap the Burgandy version instead of the black that I wore here also for this look.
