ahhhh but today we fell in love with the Jo Malone “Earl Grey Cologne”.
The beautiful distinction of Earl Grey, the perfume opens with a burst of Bergamot combined with Apple, Jasmine and Cucumber. The unique Earl Grey scent with a combination Angelica and Davanna at its centre, is beautifully delicate without overpowering citrus undertones. As an Earl Grey Drinker I find it hard to dislike anything about this fragrance
Jo Malone is sometimes harshly critiqued for the longevity of its scents but this cologne settles so softly on the skin giving way to a muskier undertone after an hour or two. The very nature of this fragrance is soft & reviving just like the tea itself. A delicious few hours can be expected, the Base of Beeswax, Vanilla & Musk at the very heart of this fragrance, lend a musky depth as the cologne softens on the skin. The longevity is about four to six hours on the skin.

It’s one of the most important times in her life….
….The Wedding Day…
and skin should be fresh, hydrated and nourished to create that important beautiful base. So where to start and what to buy ….. Included below are some of the reliable skincare buys especially for Irish skin where skin is often sensitive, with dreaded oily T Zones.
First things first , we love to cleanse, cleanse, cleanse….The Lancôme Gel Eclat clarifying cleanser pearly foam is a fine luxurious pearly foam which cleanses deep down into the skin gently breaking down day to day impurities and sebum.
A fantastic product for normal to oily types in particular and great for us makeup wearers. Best applied to a damp face, the gel begins to create a soft foam once applied on the skin. Massage gently for 60 seconds to boost micro circulation before rinsing off with warm water. The soft gel is non drying and the skin is left feeling soft and fresh.
Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Cream is a daily anti aging moisturising cream with a slightly pearlescent finish that looks great on all skin types. The best feature here is the lightweight texture that leaves skin radiant but doesn’t have that heavy texture that can clog skin. Fantastic as a day to day moisturiser in the run up to your big day & as an option under everyday makeup.
The most delicate skin on the body …… under the eyes….., needs most of our TLC. This is a much loved go to under eye moisturiser MAC Fast Responce Eye Creme. It’s packed full of Caffeine and Vitamin E, on application you will feel that instant tightening effect, this product really keeps the area quite firm. This cream is wonderfully lightweight with a soft vanilla scent and delicate blurring optics will create a soft focus effect under the eyes.
All Lancôme products listed above are available @ Lancôme department stores nationwide & of course our favourite MAC @ Brown Thomas Stores.

The Christmas countdown is off with a bang and we are celebrating with a cocktail hour……
And so the Marc Jacobs fragrance family grows by one, Marc Jacobs presents Decadence, it first mature fragrance of this year. The luxurious packaging made me feel initially intrigued, thinking yes, yes, yes I will just adore this scent…….
The olive green hue is one of my favourite shades, the chic bottle symbolic, a “personal talisman” of the designer, reminiscent of a handbag complete with the gold chain and black python cap and tassel made it feel very enticing indeed. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the scent, feeling that this fragrance would have more exoticism to offer. Please don’t misunderstand me by saying this perfume is luxurious and I must say lasted all day but it lacked a certain something….
The base notes are warm Amber, Vetiver and Papyrus wood, the top notes include Italian plum saffron and Iris, Bulgarian rose, Sambac jasmine and Orris Root at its centre. Initially the fragrance is slightly sharp then within a couple of minutes develops in a solidly spicy scent. The base notes of warm Amber and plum overpower all the other ingredients. If you are a fan of a warm heavy spicy Amber fragrance with a blast of pepper then this is for you. The strong slightly synthetic scent, will last all night long. A wonderful Christmas gift with its exquisite packaging and longevity, but do test out likability with the receiver before purchase.
Available in 30ml, 50ml & 100ml from selected stores nationwide.
