And so the Marc Jacobs fragrance family grows by one, Marc Jacobs presents Decadence, it first mature fragrance of this year. The luxurious packaging made me feel initially intrigued, thinking yes, yes, yes I will just adore this scent…….
The olive green hue is one of my favourite shades, the chic bottle symbolic, a “personal talisman” of the designer, reminiscent of a handbag complete with the gold chain and black python cap and tassel made it feel very enticing indeed. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the scent, feeling that this fragrance would have more exoticism to offer. Please don’t misunderstand me by saying this perfume is luxurious and I must say lasted all day but it lacked a certain something….
The base notes are warm Amber, Vetiver and Papyrus wood, the top notes include Italian plum saffron and Iris, Bulgarian rose, Sambac jasmine and Orris Root at its centre. Initially the fragrance is slightly sharp then within a couple of minutes develops in a solidly spicy scent. The base notes of warm Amber and plum overpower all the other ingredients. If you are a fan of a warm heavy spicy Amber fragrance with a blast of pepper then this is for you. The strong slightly synthetic scent, will last all night long. A wonderful Christmas gift with its exquisite packaging and longevity, but do test out likability with the receiver before purchase.
Available in 30ml, 50ml & 100ml from selected stores nationwide.

The Return of the Backpack
Looking back on the history of backpacks, the only time they were ever deemed fashionable was nearly two decades ago. Rarely were they ever used to make a fashion statement and for purposes other than traveling or school. But our cultural obsession with reviving past trends has got us longing for the fad that was ubiquitous in the ‘90s. Back then, it was only Prada that was able to strike the balance between practicality and panache, in contrast to all of today’s labels, both indie and well-known, which have managed to create various kinds of stylish backpacks to address the lifestyle needs of the under-40 something year old city adventurer
The student staple became all the rage in the fashion industry when celebrities hung up their purses for the carryall, sporting a backpack during daily errands and tasks, from shopping to going out for dinner. Kanye West even brought one on stage with him while he was on tour, inevitably changing the “back-to-school” trend to “back-to-cool.” The popularity among the stars encouraged ready-to-wear labels to give the conventional canvas backpack a stylish makeover, ruling as one of the hottest trends on the runways and in street wear. From the boyish Herschel designs to the luxurious leather of Mulberry products, fashion aggregator Lyst says that “there are backpacks to suit all moods and occasions.
Fashion after fashion show, more and more designers share their take on the chic rucksack, with one of the more recent luxury brands showcasing their modern spin on the nylon utility bag being Burberry. The reimagined nylon backpack made its debut during London Fashion Week, with a price tag of $1,295 to indicate that these once dorky accessories are things that even the luxe shopper have taken a keen interest in.
Are backpacks really the new “It Bags?” Possibly. It seems that millennials need more reasons to invest high fashion beyond physical appearance or trendiness of the accessory. In order for the typical consumer to remotely consider buying a luxury bag over a backpack from an economical brand, it needs to have better durability and flexibility to match with a myriad of outfits. Style may still be our primary reason for purchasing accessories, but it’s quite apparent that for us, function is just as important as fashion.

Attending a pre wedding luncheon with the girls and want to follow this seasons Autumn/Winter monochrome trend… then opt for some ultra cool monochromes as seen in the beautifully understated and elegant Helmung Lang collections this Autumn/Winter 15 available at Brown Thomas Stores nationwide.
Today we went solo and opted for the Winter White shade throughout the look.
The weather has been so mild that a blazer was the perfect option for lunch….this collarless blazer is a warm winter white from H & M, from a few seasons ago but a classic nonetheless with its timeless tailoring. Soft waist accentuation & plain design lines make it an instant success whether casual or in this case slightly formal at lunch.
Its so easy to be inspired with current craze for patterns , motifs and ruffles ,just adoring the work from Peter Pilotto , just check out his ruffle silk blouse…. if you love pattern you will simply adore the entire collection. Today we went one step further and added some 3D ruffles with this oversized flower form the frequently visited nationwide fabric store Hickeys.
The very off white belt is vintage, much loved and worn as with all vintage items. The circle buckle detail echoes the retro decade of choice this year the 70s , check out Stella Macarthy for a beautiful faux leather alternative, available in a tan colour and a slightly larger version. The Skirt today is midi length with a warm gold brocade detail, Art Deco style to be exact, adding some necessary glitz as we begin to start the party season in ernest. This seasons love of the Art Deco is surely inspired from the last season of the cult show Downton Abbey.
The love of Art Deco’s brazen gold and black is in a lots of our Winter footwear this year, check out Valentino and Chloe for some beautiful options. This saucy pair of gold sandals with ankle strap in faux python effect are from ASOS.

The Glamour, Couture of attending a wedding these days….. and with the 70s spin still rocking the catwalk …..there are so many classic silhouettes to choose from. I opted for the boho silhouette for this look, a favourite of mine. Some classic features of this look are a shift dress, shaggy or oversize coat and statement chunky heels.
The ultimate in 70s chic…. a nude shift shape dress with a round collar from Penneys. The shoulder here has some beautiful silver studs and pearl details. The transparent chiffon on the billowing sleeves is one of my favourite features from this dress . The sleeves have gorgeous cuffs with a dainty metallic silver button. Accessorising was never so easy.
This oversize wool coat from River Island was a great buy from last season. The chunky pastel pink trim hints at a Channel with a 70s vibe. The tan plaid pattern screams 70s but the toned down shade here ensures this coat will compliment many outfits. This coat feels so dressed up over a short shift dress and heels.
These Box heels in a patent nude from Penneys are the heel silhouette of this Winter. The chunky heel is edgy and forward, the square toe and box bow are ultimate classic elements…. we love.
……& finally a pair of Vintage cream gloves with peep through back and the cutest daisy embroidered detail added a touch of girlish glamour.
Have a wonderful weekend ladies.

Feeling so inspired with black at the moment. It’s a lifelong love with a colour that’s currently the very arch nemesis of what’s on trend right now with explosion of colour seen all over the catwalks. Just looking at the new Roksanda Ilincic collection is like a Charlie & the chocolate factory explosion with on winter furs and wools. Absolutely gorgeous 😉
Anyway back to tonight’s look, rocking a biker pleather jacket , mirroring this seasons fascination with detailing as seen on Alexander McQueens A/W 2015 collection with cute Channel quilted influences. The gold zip detailing adding some sassy dimension to the jacket. Blag yours now @ #Penneys.
The black princess style black dress is a much loved vintage, with a gold bar as the standout waist clincher. Not easily seen here but dress is sleeveless with a deep V neck at the back and front.
Adding a slash of colour to this look, a large tote in gorgeous tan, one of this seasons most loved shades, from #Primadonnacollection. The large handles and roomy size make it a perfect option for carrying beauty essentials.
I kept accessories to a minimum opting for an oval amber ring with gold band, a much loved vintage find. The very essential pleather leggings & sky high wedge leather boots as before with details in previous post.

It’s Tuesday & we have definitely moved into the Autumn season. Feeling chilly tonight, but really excited to get dressed up & go out. Looking to some of the key trends that have graced our catwalks in recent weeks for some style inspiration.
A chic white jacket , a wardrobe essential. This collarless off white blazer was a great purchase from #H&M last season. Smart for the everyday at the office and chic for tonight’s night out.
The pleather pants are the ideal partner for any outfit, and with faux leather more popular than ever thanks to the 70s resurgence. Teamed with a dress for tonight, this pair was from a season ago @ #H&M, slightly high waisted and elasticated so clingy in all the right places.
The sheath dress in this seasons very popular royal blue hue. The knee length dress has a high neck and I added a little bit of interest with the little waist detail, a vintage suede belt with gold buckle.
The 70s trend is still going strong and if you haven’t invested in a pair of wedge boots, now it’s time. It’s all quirky details on foot accessories this Autumn, so as the new styles pour onto our shelves , I invested in knee length leather wedge black boots, great for skirts, dresses and to wear with trousers. These sky high wedges will get plenty of wears this season.
& last but not least the accessories of the night , a sea blue wool fedora from a national favourite “Penneys”. The envelope clutch, a lightweight must for the ultimate girls night. This blue suede clutch is from Prima Donna Collection.

Hi Ladies & Gents
MAC Turquatic Purfume, a contemporary scent, is vibrant sensual & eclectic . As with any product from Estee Lauder the quality and character of its products are second to none. It is marketed as an aquatic scent , to be honest I didn’t really experience an aquatic scent thankfully. Slightly more complex than your average citrus scent maybe thats why it works as a unisex fragrance, Men love the woody scent and women the citrus and floral layers with the underlying muskier undertone. Both men & woman can both definitely wear this perfume ✌️.
Wearing this Frangrance feels like wearing multiple layers of sharp citrus scents all @ once, lemon and lotus. The acidic notes with the Corsican Blue Cedar muskier undertone from create an unforgettable scent . This perfume lasts about three hours before needing to top up, with many people throughout the day complementing on the unique scent.
It is available in 3 sizes : 50 ml , 30 ml & a cute miniature rollerball ( ideal if you want to carry your signature scent with you )?? .
Available nationwide @ Brown Thomes 50ml @ 55 Euro .

Looking very forward to the weekend perhaps, a very special occasion ahead…. a family wedding or a best friend tying the knot?
Wondering exactly what to wear with the intense humidy & frequent showers? I would advise to wear something lightweight on the skin and switch to a longer dress length or a sleeve detail as the evenings now get can get very chilly.
For this weekend I opted for a fitted dress from www.ladyvb.com. The longer length and well fitted shape give a sultry feel to the dress. The fuller strap and balconette bust shape give this dress that glam factor. I love the combination of printed detailing on the skirt with lace overlay on the bust with a very flattering fuchsia ribbon belt under the bust.
My little hat is also from www.ladyvb.com. Fuchsia has been quite dominant this year and is so very flattering on all skin tones. This little pillbox hat with soft folds and miniature broach centrepiece has that lovely chic factor for a weekend wedding.
I added a smart white blazer from Zara.com to the look, always a little handy investment piece!!! The jacket is white texture lightweight with a nude button detail and soft collar. I love that this type of jacket can be worn casual or dressy.
& as ever just adore the final touch of accessories…. opted for an envelope clutch from Penneys ( an over the Summer purchase) and white slingback stilettos with a clever hidden platform from new look.com (Last Season).
Have a fabulous weekend ladies.

Hiii everyone, the pre race fashion prep for Galway Race week with designers working on a 24 hour clock to finish all the fantastic designs…..
Unsure of what to wear next week for you ladies day ensemble? This is an outfit I styled recently. The look I had in mind was very 50s inspired. I loved the on trend large floral detailing on this Red Floral Dress from Ladyvb.com. Its just so easy to wear and I felt so glam. The little cap sleeves and full
skirt will also suit any shape, the nipped in waist doing all the work here!
The dainty saucer hat is also from Ladyvb.com. The jade green colour complemented the dress perfectly and can be worn either side depending on your preference. The little spiral detailing on the hat dresses it up beautifully. I opted for an investment pair of french connection leather metallic kitten heels. These super smart heels will never date & are a great height for racing. Heel height is something I definitely would consider when racing as you are walking, chatting , fashion watching, racing all day!!!!
